Tulum was a town on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in the ancient Mayan empire. Its remains feature an early version of an innovative navigation system. Two beams of light out of well-designed wall-rifts were used to guide ships through a gap in the coral reef that encircled the harbour. This same principle is applied today to land aircraft safely in any modern airport of the world, and inspires us at TULUM SA in devising solutions for our clients.
